5th annual Ridgecrest Ride of Silence speaks without words

“Cyclists prepare for the 5th annual eight mile Ride of Silence on Jacks Ranch Road on Wednesday evening. The Ride of Silence is an international event that both honors cyclists who have been injured on the road and raises awareness for cycling safety on the road. Ridgecrest Police Department officers rode escort ahead and behind the cyclists.”

For this photo essay, the National Newspaper Association awarded me third place in the “Photo Essay” category for our newspaper’s division in their 2018 Better Newspaper Editorial Contest.
